From Lucas with love, the appreciation draw

Chemist in the Bottle was created as my own need to share the impressions of fragrances that I smell with other people all over the world. In fact, it was an impulse. I just woke up one day and felt that it’s the right time to start blogging about perfume. Off to WordPress I went and launched a site. I never thought that my blog will become something popular. Not even a little. Yet, as it was progressing, more people started to visit. It even advanced to the level that some brands and perfume creators find my opinion valuable in the niche perfume market. It’s very flattering, thank you so much!

I treasure a friendship with each and every one of my virtual perfume friends who pay me a visit once in a while to leave a comment. I cherish our relationship and am glad our internet paths somehow met. Dear friends, strangers who accidentally entered my site and all of the hiding readers who I believe one day will come out of the shadow to talk. Thanks to you Chemist in the Bottle has reached 100.000 visits this week! I remember how proud I was after getting 10.000, ten times more is just hard to believe, I wish I could hug you all now. It’s you who create this place so special. If you didn’t come to read my blog I would’ve probably given up many months ago. You’re my fuel!

To celebrate this milestone achievement I’d like to organize the appreciation draw. As you know my blog is ads-free and nobody sponsors my writing. That’s why the prize is very modest, but you need to know that it comes straight from my heart. One lucky person will receive:

To be entered in the draw you need to follow my blog, and meet these two conditions. Condition 1 – like this post. Condition 2 – leave a comment telling which is your favourite review published at Chemist in the Bottle. The contest will be open for 7 days and I’ll announce the winner next weekend. Good luck to everyone and I hope that you will stay by my side for much longer.

Lucas!!! Congratulations on your milestone! The next 100K will come in no time.

(no need entering me into the draw)

Isn’t it great that WordPress counts for you. Imagine adding all those posts up from time to time! Excellent heartwork Lucas. A group hug, ha, why not be virtual.

I have often wondered what a stranger who accidentally entered your site would actually think. I like all your writing but my favourite posts would the molecule series as I learnt things that only a perfume student would normally know.

    Waft on through the day
    Waft on through the night
    You will never waft alone.

If I were to count posts I would only count the number of comments, instead of visits. Counting it all would be hard.

Thanks for a hug. You are in the draw!

  3. Congrats Lucas… here’s to the next 100,000 visits! No need to enter me in the draw my friend.

  4. WOO HOO! You are AH MAY ZING! Congratulations Lucasz!! I’m so happy for you.
DNEM but my favourite posts are your Quick Sniffs.

I love your posts Lucas! My latest favorite was your exploration of Ambers. I do not need to be entered, but huge congratulations to you!!!

  9. Mary K says:

100,000 visits is a lot! That shows that more and more people are checking out your blog and that visitors are liking it. I think you do a great job of presenting information about perfumes you review, plus it’s nice to get a chemist’s viewpoint on notes, as that is always a learning experience. And when a person loves perfume, the more you know about it, the better. It’s fun to hear about your vacations and school, too. I’ve enjoyed all of your reviews, especially the ones about perfume houses that I was not familiar with (Jovoy and Carner Barcelona), plus your vacation post was fun. I think, though, that my favorite post was the one (two, actually) where you interviewed Stanislawa Missala.

    • lucasai says:

      Hi Mary!
Yes, it’s a huge number. I’m happy you like my chemical insight as well as the analysis of the perfumes. And glad you like those more personal texts too.
Very happy that you found Carner Barcelona interesting.
Thanks for sharing your favorite posts with me.

      You’re in the draw.

I like the chemist explanations the best. It makes your blog unique. I like the reviews too 🙂
The Iris Nazarena review really sounded great. Congratulations, may there be many more visits.

  11. Beata says:

Contatulations Lukas!! Well done – one of my favourite blogs 🙂
200,000 visits will come before you blink your eyes!

No need to enter me into draw

What a great blog — I discovered it via “What Men Should Smell Like.”

    • lucasai says:

Hi Voicemint and nice to meet you. Very nice you wandered such a long distance here from Clayton’s blog.

      • voicemint says:

Nice to meet you as well, Lucas. My actual name is Gary. I enjoy your “Quick Sniffs” postings, thus far. I see what you mean by distance… he’s in Australia and you’re in Poland. 😉 And I’m in America. One tremendously amazing feat that the Internet can do, joining together people from all over the world (the others of course are education and commerce, to name a few).

  13. Wow, Lukasz…that’s awesome! That’s quite a milestone. I just started a blog myself and I get excited anytime I get over 100 readers in a day! Ha. Keep up the great work!

  14. Congratulations, Lucas!
Not entering the draw either but glad to hear you are growing more and more.

    Caro

  15. hajusuuri says:

Congratulations on the 100,000 visits, my dearest Lucas! What I like most about your blog is that you have a great variety of types of postings and as soon as I read one posting, I am already eagerly anticipating the next one not knowing if it will be a review, a poll, a chemistry posting, a foodie post, Monday! Quick! Sniffs!, LIfe, etc….

    Here’s to your next 100,000!

Oh and no need to enter me in the draw eventhough, as you know, I am eagerly awaiting my chance to smell Silver Iris and I have not yet explored the Jardins d’Ecrivains line.

    Love you!!!

    • lucasai says:

      Thank you sweetie!
Glad you like the variety of options to chose from reading my blog.

Oh, you don’t want the samples? OK, but if you want Orlando, I can send it to you anyway.

  16. Anka says:

    Hi Lucas,
there are many reasons why you are one of my favorite bloggers: First of all I like the name of your blog, then due to the clearly arranged design, it’s reader-friendly, moreover I have great respect (and envy you for that) for your ability to write in English – it takes me quite a while to only write a comment…and it’s very interesting, of course, to read from a chemistry expert’s perspective. So thanks for your wonderful blog!
My favorite posts are those where you write with all your passion and enthusiasm like all the Atelier Cologne and Carner Barcelona reviews (Would bahte in it, Grand Néroli, e.g.).

    • lucasai says:

Thank you Anka for all your kind words.
Truly, it’s much easier to write about perfumes we love than about what we hate or what left us cold.

You’re in the draw! Good luck

  17. Laurels says:

Congratulations! Six figures is very impressive.

I really enjoyed your Amber Week. You introduced me to a bunch of perfumes, and several houses, that I had never heard of. (Your review of Orlando was also particularly intriguing.)

I follow with Bloglovin, and I liked your post there, if that counts. If not, so be it.

  18. jilliecat says:

Well, dear Lucas, I have followed you for several years now, from the time when I noticed this bright new person commenting on Now Smell This (and thought you were from the UK – that shows how good your English is!) and on to the creation of your very own blog. Your posts are always interesting, and I enjoy them so much that I don’t really have a favourite (unless it’s about lemons!). And I always like it when you veer off onto things like food and tea! Here’s a toast to many more happy hours of reading. Congratulations!

    • lucasai says:

Yes, we’ve known each other since I de-lurked at NST. Remember when I decided to change the gravatar for shirt-tie picture and how everyone noticed that!?
I remember that when you wrote you thought that I have Polish roots but live in the UK.
Thank you Jillie for all these days and here’s to many more.

      You’re entered in the draw.

  19. Congratulations! I wonder how long I’ll take to even get to 10,000 views on my blog… but I’m sure that with time, and with quality writing, readers will stay. I’m so glad for you! Your blog is a great inspiration that passion is the most important ingredient in blogging about perfume. My favourite post was on D600 – I do wish you’d review Cuirs in order to round out the entire Carner Barcelona line! 😀

  20. I’m coming late to the party, dearest Lucas, but I just wanted to reach out and congratulate you! To think that this crazy internet blogging world would bring me so many new friends all over the world is such an incredible and incredibly inspiring thought.

I feel especially lucky to have met you 🙂

    Congratulations again, Lucas!
