A month of roses – the conclusions

pastel-rose

I can’t believe that February is over and that those 28 days passed so fast! I also turned twenty-seven few days ago so the world can end now, can’t it? Of course it can’t as there are dreams and aspirations to make come true first. I believe it wouldn’t be an exagerration if I say that a month of roses was a huge success. Many liked my idea & I’m very grateful for that.

The initiative also had a firm support among other bloggers. Undina did her own version of a rose calendar, while Portiaย and Malsย also joined the fun of making February as much fragrant with roses as possible. And of course there were you, my dear readers, if it wasn’t for your help, the idea would backfire at me. And that would be hopeless.

I might be slightly mistaken with counting but according to my brief calculations – together we wore at least 50 different rose perfume in February. Pretty amazing right? Of course biggest hat tip goes to Undina who on her own braved 28 different roses in a month. You shall be awarded a “rose devotee” pin. To be honest, everyone who participated should get one. I have to admit that I’m very happy with the outcome of this initiative, that it was so widely enjoyed and accepted, it’s flattering to me. Will I do it again? I don’t know… why not? But if we do rose month again I will have to start stocking the supplies in advance so that I’m well prepared. But iris month – I think I could do that!

Once again – many thanks to each and every one of contributors. I hope this floral month will serve as a beautiful prelude to spring that shall soon come. May force rose be with you!

Thanks for doing this, it was fun to follow even if I couldn’t really participate. Could we do an incense month? ๐Ÿ™‚ But I’d happily participate in iris month too.

I suppose incense month would have to wait until autumn. I don’t see myself wearing only incense perfume when spring is just around the corner

I commented yesterday, so I won’t drone on again. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But! iris would be my pick.

As I started reading this, I was thinking “of course iris would be Lucas’s perfect note”!

It’s been a really fascinating project and I love it when lots of perfume bloggers get together – it emphasises that sense of “family” that we get from sharing our loves and views.

It was an even bigger success than you think! I saw people commenting on NST, Facebook and a couple of blogs (in addition to those that you’ve mentioned). I absolutely loved it. We should probably do it again next year – maybe we’ll figure out in advance a more involving group project? But anyway, it was a great idea, thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

I suppose I missed some posts/comments etc that you managed to see. But I’m happy to know it was on even bigger scale than I thought.

I agree, next year let’s plan it better!

  5. Hey Lucasz,
I LOVED the idea and wish I’d been more en pointe. Next year remind me in early January and i’ll do a 28 day rose event alongside you and Undina.
Not sure I have 28 irises in my collection if you do a month of iris but I could definitely do rose.

It was a fun ride, Lucas! Thanks for initiating it and looking forward to other projects!

It was lots of fun to have a perfume connection to people around the world and who doesn’t love roses? I think you should do another ‘scent month’, maybe gardenias for June or something. Just a thought. I enjoyed reading Undina’s blog post on roses, too.
