5th blog birthday – giveaway winners

Until last Sunday you could share with me your vision of your ideal perfume. A perfume that will fit you perfectly, that you’d never get tired of and maybe even one that would express your own personality in one of a kind way, your way. All the votes have now been counted. I can see certain excitement around so without further ado let me announce the lucky trinity of winners.

winners-5-bday

3rd place – HanneA who wins exclusive sampler set from Puredistance.

Head: Grapefruit, bergamot, lemongrass, palo santo, elemi
Heart: Linden blossom, magnolia, rose, jasmine, Carnation,
nutmeg, Galangal, quince
Base: Oak wood, oud, oak moss, patchouli, vetiver, Myrrh, musk
I’d name it Tapestry because that has significance to me. It would come in a square or rectangular “ancient stone” like textured bottle with mixed jewel toned/natural multi threads around the neck of the bottle. Top of the bottle I’m not sure of, but maybe the eye of a needle…

2nd place – M3000 who wins mixed travel set from Aedes de Venustas.

I imagine a scent of a rather dark blue/green temperament, kind of dark turquoise. More celestial than from water. A dash of some dark and dry fruit, to address a typical head note area. That scent is clear, not clean. Not fresh, not aquatic. No lavender, at least not prominent. A slight ozonic note in the heart, maybe enhanced with Iris. Crumbs of black tea leaves. The heart shifts and densifies to a smoky base without noticeable sweetness. The smoke is not churchy but still cool, yet darker. Possibly a bit of birch tar. No leather. But dry. All that still floats around this vibe of blueness.

1st place – Jillie who wins a grand prize, a bottle of Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve.

“Magic” – that’s what I call my perfume ….. because it is a magical, shape-shifting, mood-reflecting potion. Like the green lipstick that transforms itself into your perfect shade on application, or the rings that echo your aura and change according to how you feel, my “Magic” senses my spirit and how I want to smell. It contains all my favourite notes and amplifies the particular essence that I most desire at any moment.
The bottle is a round ball that fits in the palm of my hand; it is heavy, matte black glass adorned with tiny, irregular silver stars that stand proud of its surface, like shimmering embroidery.
Sophia Grojsman is my perfumer – she knows just how to combine spice with flowers, a sweet hint of peach, a touch of mystical incense, and finally a sprinkle of fairy dust…

I will get in touch with you 3 shortly in order to get your mailing details. I’d like to say thank you to all of you who celebrated 5th blog birthday with me and who joined the giveaway. I know that the task wasn’t easy. Many thanks to Samantha, Portia, Megan, Laurie & Mary for helping me judge this giveaway. I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude towards Puredistance, Atelier des Ors and Aedes who kindly offered their great perfume so that this giveaway could take place.

Let’s enjoy another year together, discovering many more new fragrances.

YAY! Wow, thank you so much! 😀 how fun! What I enjoy about your blog specifically and the perfumer’s universe in general is the possibility to either dip the toe in the water or smash the box totally. Thanks for all that you share in your perfume journey and even though I may not post much, I enjoy perusing from the shadows. Thanks so much again and good luck in all your scented journeys to come.
