February this month is an especially creative and entertaining month thanks to Undina and a Month of Irises project she started four weeks ago. It’s a fun thing to do but it’s also a challenge – to find 28 perfume with more or less prominent iris, so that you can wear a different scent on each of twenty-eight days of February. Wasn’t an easy task for me but I think I’m doing outstandingly good & I didn’t repeat any perfume yet. Community projects like this one not only bring us closer together but it also helps us to appreciate iris as a note even more. Not to mention that we learn from each other. That study of iris I wrote earlier this week was also a great ‘practical’ lesson of how this precious raw material is produced.
Did you notice the importance of number 28 in here? Due to February having 28 days we’re all encouraged to wear 28 different iris perfumes. To me this number has an additional meaning this year because today I’m turning 28 years young. I’m going to have a little family celebration today – there will be some cake, a wine toast and maybe even some presents. But otherwise it will be regular, calm Saturday. Luckily it’s not that age yet when you suddenly start to think you’re old. I have some birthday wishes this year but for now I’ll keep them for myself. If any of them comes true, you can be sure that I’ll share some of my happiness with you. Thank you for being a part of me.
