It’s the first weekend of both calendar and astronomical Spring but it doesn’t feel at all like the new season, that of awakening and revival has begun. Here where I live the sky is gloomy now, it’s also cold and windy at the moment. There was even some snow falling on the 21st of March!
Of course I know that Spring is going to come but I wish it better do it sooner than later. Easter is just 1 week away & it would’ve been great if the weather was nice enough to be able to go for a walk in the park after enjoying some good food with my family.
Despite this aura I’m trying to keep my optimism high. Just after Easter I’ll be going to Milan for 10th edition of Esxence. I’m very excited about it. Also few days ago I got a new pair of glasses – something completely different than I used to wear so far. You could say that I’m reinventing myself a bit for the Spring. Meanwhile I’m wearing Aqua Sextius from Jul et Mad which is my interpretation of a ‘Spring in a bottle’ fragrance. What is a perfume you like that gives you a Spring mood vibe?
Fazzolari’s Au Dèla: Narcisse de Montaigne, Vilhelm’s A Lilac A Day.
Have to admit I didn’t try both of them. Perhaps because narcissus or lilac are not the notes I usually reach for on my own
I have always seen Diorissimo and Jour d’Hermes as my favorite’s spring in the bottle perfumes. Apres l’Ondee is another one I enjoy a lot.
Let’s hope for the beauty of spring not to arrive too late. Easter will bring it with it!
I agree!!!! we need some warm weather PRONTO!
Pronto is the right word!
On me Jour d’Hermes was a total scrubber but Le Jardin de Monsieur Li will work for spring too
I forgot Monsieur Li! That is also bright and cheerful for Spring. It always makes me feel light and happy!
Yay!
I’m with you on Diorissimo!
OOO! I actually tried this one! My best friend sent me a sample of it!! it IS a lovely spring scent! and I love the color of the juice!
St Clair Scents First Cut and Gardener’s Glove would be my newly discovered spring choices…but I have also recently worn Jo Malone Vetyvr which I think is great for spring . An old spring favorite of mine is Pacifica’s French Lilac …it is inexpensive and good. Nocturnes de Caron also is lovely for the segue from winter to early spring when the weather is still cold..it is like a buttery floral to my nose. Berdoues Arz el Rab I like for the soft cedar and iris….almost verges on cuddlefluff for me (sorry, lucas, could not figure out how to add the trademark symbol to that 🙂 !!)
You have quite many choices up there to introduce some Spring mood into your day
Nocturnes never worked for me. I have half bottle sitting on my cabinet to be given away. I love French Lilac! I hope Pacifica never discontinues that one from its line as well as Persian Rose.
I started wearing Nocturnes in 1983…it is one of the few fragrances that has come close enough to being a signature scent for me…must have drained maybe 10 bottles?
Pacifica has been making some radical changes..they introduced a new perfume line so I am not sure what direction they are going in…they got rid of their candles and SO MANY of their other fragrances that I used to love…crossing fingers that French Lilac stays on…
and wishing you a peaceful and contented spring and that things look brighter as the days warm up and get longer, pl67!
I think that Pacifica French Lilac is surprisingly good, even if not to take price into account.
Right now I sit in the sun, had some ice cream – I enjoy life. For this first sunny spring day I chose Dusita Issara, perfect match! High on the list were Tauer Lonesome Rider and the classic Dior Dune.
Have fun in Milano, one day we’ll attend!
I’m envious of your great weather! Dusita is a nice choice. I think Erawan could work as well based on its notes – I didn’t smell it yet
Oh my, what to choose? I’ll go with Puredistance Opardu. Have fun in Milan and looking forward to your report!
The classy lilac from Puredistance. Nice
Joy by Patou. Or Tauer’s Carillon.
Nice ones
I love Guerlain Mayotte, it reminds me summer will soon be here! Un Jardin sur le Toit by Hermès and Linden by Library of Flowers are another couple that I am enjoying now!
Enjoy your trip to Milan, Lucas.
I haven’t tried Mayotte and from Hermes Jardins only Monsieur Li works for me 😉
I have many perfumes that I associate with spring – mostly because they have as main notes those flowers that epitomize spring for me – mimosa, narcissus, lilac, lily of the valley. Ostara, Mimosa & Cardamom, Diorissimo, Opardu – just to name a few.
I guess I am not a spring flowers person because the only flower in perfume from among these that you mention is mimosa 😂
Iris de Nuit by James Heeley smells fresh like spring.
And Opardu by Puredistance.
That one was ok but nothing to lust over in my case
Super elegant choice. I learned to appreciate it over time, didn’t like it in First place
