Notes of the Summer

As you probably noticed I felt a bit down for the last couple of weeks. Even in my last week post I said that I didn’t know what to do with my summer vacation this year. The truth is that I didn’t even want to think about going anywhere. I was supposed to be preparing to my relocation to France but that obviously didn’t work this time. I should be strong and hope for the future but that’s easier said than done. In the meantime a clock is ticking and summer is closer to its end than to the beginning.

Maybe I’m starting to get on terms with it, maybe my summer blues is finally fading away or maybe it was because all of the lovely words you poured down on me but I just wanted to let you know that I did it a couple of days ago, I booked my holiday! In 2nd half of September I’ll be going on a round trip in the Alps. The itinerary involves visiting places in Italian region of Piemont as well as spending some time in Switzerland and Austria. I’m quite looking forward to it, despite all odds.

What’s your favorite perfume or a favorite discovery of this summer?

Have a wonderful time on your trip. Vacations can be very restorative to your spirit. My favorite discovery is the one above – Paris-Deauville. It’s one of those “always works” perfumes for me!

Have a great vacation time Lucas! You truly deserve it! Any perfume sniffing plans during your trip?
My best summer discoveries this year were Chanel Paris-Deauville and Paris-Venise. Beautiful, easy to wear perfumes. I hope to be able to add a full bottle of both in the future.

That will be a great holiday and so very different from your usual sort. There is a melancholy tinge to the air right now, almost as if autumn is reminding us that it will soon be here …. but before that you will have a new adventure and that will prepare you for the rest of the year.

Sadly, I can’t think of any wonderful discovery!

It seems like so but afterall I’ll be in Italy for at least a small part, right?
I’m not really thinking of autumn yet but chestnuts that grow outside my window are getting bigger and soon enough they will start falling down.

I am sorry to read you have to deal with this setback, hopefully your holiday will help you to regroup and find a way forward. I think when life is like this there is only one thing you can do: keep going. Your trip sounds lovely. My discovery this summer were Unter den Linden and Liquid Dreams, although I have my mind set upon Deauville, but I am hesitant to blind buy.

I hope so too. Maybe my mind will separate from some bad thoughts when I’m there.
Great discoveries from April Aromatics! I wholehearedly recomment Paris-Deauville.

Looking forward to hearing about your trip, especially Switzerland since its my home country. In fact just came back from there a week ago! And then the food in Piemont! Hope you have a wonderful time.

  6. I’m so glad to hear you are shaking of the blues and going on a lovely trip! My favorite discovery of the summer was two-fold: Florence and Venice. My husband and I were able to visit them for the first time, and loved them both. Fragrance-wise, I’ve really been enjoying Irissime (I think it has been discontinued because I got it at TK Maxx); and Dua’s Holy Grail.

Yay for a holiday! It sounds very interesting, and I’m glad you’re fighting off the blues. I hope to see many great pictures from your vacation.
No big discoveries this summer but I hope to catch up during my vacation.

Northern Italy and the Alps sounds divine and a great trip to take during such a hot summer. Enjoy! Prada’s Purple Rain always makes me feel cool in the summer as does Prada’s Infusion de Rose, the newer version. Both cool and fabulous!

Have a great trip! In my experience, it’s is really true that when one door closes another, always, opens. We just must watch for it. My favorite perfume discoveries (can’t limit to one) this summer are Hans Hendley perfumes. I want them all! Gaining a level of confidence across an entire house, especially for a new artist, is nearly impossible. Often there’s one or maybe two scents that are the standouts. Not with Hans. Even Luca Turin agrees. Bloodlines is especially amazing. Check it out: https://www.hendleyperfumes.com/.

My second fave this summer is one of the new Ellena creations for Perris Monte Carlo: Arancia Di Sicilia. Tried to explore its Blood Orange note. Instead I found a multifaceted, radiantly well blended/spiced scent that’s suitable for both warm and cool weather equally. Fabulous.

    • lucasai says:

I’ve heart the name Hendley here and there but didn’t have a chance to smell even 1 perfume fron this brand yet.

Arancia di Sicilia from Perris is lovely but it’s not by J-C. Ellena. Jasmine and Rose are.

great holidays that is a happy time and spiritual renewal and bring peace and joy on your return later … go with God and enjoy
